Food in the office is a hot topic. In March 2018, an X (previously Twitter) thread about an office lunch thief went viral, thanks to a writer and comedian from Los Angeles. Zak Tocasni documented the theft, leaving no detail untweeted. “Co-worker got his lunch stolen, and they’ve agreed to let him watch the security camera tape,” he wrote. “This is the most excited I’ve been at any job ever. Ever.”
Controversially, the thief didn’t even eat the stolen lunch (fried rice, FYI). She took it out of the fridge and buried it in the trash — for reasons that remain, to this day, unknown.
