Katie Holmes, the millionaire movie star and once-upon-a-time wife of Tom Cruise, sold her chic contemporary mansion in Calabasas, California, for $4.011 million in February 2020.

The sale came a month after reducing the original price of $4.625 million to $4.25 million. Holmes decided to part ways with the Calabasas home after her split with Jamie Foxx.

Take a look inside this six-bedroom, six-and-a-half bathroom house that is situated in the Oaks.

What's the Oaks?

It's that celebrity-stuffed suburban Los Angeles enclave where only the richest and most famous seem to reside.

Come take at Holmes’ multimillion-dollar mansion.

The European manor-style house was built in 2007.

Holmes bought this house in August 2014, about two years after she filed for divorce from Cruise in 2012. She was living in New York City at the time.

Various media reports said that Holmes feared that the Church of Scientology was following her and was concerned about the church’s potential influence on her daughter.

According to a New York Post article in July 2012, "[a] team of beefy armed men parked themselves in a white Cadillac Escalade outside Holmes' place [in NYC] all day yesterday, snapping pictures of people outside the building and demanding to know who they were."

Holmes had been renting a $12,500-a-month apartment in Manhattan after leaving Cruise.

Mission: Possible

At the time, Cruise was filming the movie "Oblivion" and was 2,600 miles away, allowing Holmes the opportunity to escape.

Cruise and Holmes were together for six years.

They became engaged in 2005.

This photo was taken in Spain shortly after their engagement.

Things may or may not have been as bad as the media reported, and we’ll never know for sure. It took Holmes two years to move from New York City to Calabasas, although she kept a residence in the Big Apple, too.

"That time was intense. It was a lot of attention, and I had a little child on top of it," Holmes told InStyle in April 2020. "We had some funny moments out and about in public. So many people I didn't know became my friends and helped us out, and that's what I love about [New York City]."

Sets of French Doors

She must have enjoyed the extra space during her five-year tenure here.

The house is open and inviting.

The Kitchen

Holmes’ kitchen is a chic black-and-white style with a large kitchen island and bar seating.

The Breakfast Nook

At its price and size, the cost per square foot is $766.

That’s a lot for most people, but it’s nothing for someone whose net worth was reportedly $25 million pre-divorce.

A Large Island

When Holmes cooks food, she typically eats healthy.

"I try to eat my veggies every day," she told People.

When she’s looking for fast food, it’s Chipotle time.

Easy Cooking

The double-basin sink and abundant counter space would make cooking and cleaning up a breeze.

The Laundry Room

Just off the kitchen, past a built-in desk, is a laundry room with a stainless steel washer and dryer.

A Kitchen Hallway

Connecting the foyer area to the back of the kitchen is a hallway with more drawers, counter space, sink and what looks like a wine cooler.

It’s quite clear that Holmes has vacated the property, as there are no personal effects of any kind in this massive master bedroom.

But even without her personal touches, the master bedroom still feels quite homey. It must be those hardwood floors.

There’s more than enough room for every different garment from Holmes’ now-defunct fashion line, which the "Dawson’s Creek" alum ended in 2014, right around the same time she moved into this house.

Holmes bought this house for $3.795 million. If it had sold at the asking price, she would have made $830,000 on the transaction.

She made less than that, though, after the house sold for $4.011 million in February 2020.

So she made about $205,000, not counting agent and seller fees.

Holmes was recently in a relationship with Jamie Foxx.

She reportedly had been spending more time in California during their relationship — Foxx lives 20 miles away — but the two broke up in September 2019.

Rare Opportunities

Holmes is now directing movies as well as acting. Her first film, "All We Had," debuted in 2016. It was an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Annie Weatherwax.

Her upcoming film, "Rare Objects," is also a book adaptation. She's turning the book by Kathleen Tessaro into a screenplay and will direct the movie, which is a historical drama set during the Great Depression.

Moving On

For all the negative press that Cruise receives for being a Scientologist, the divorce between Holmes and Cruise seemed amicable.

The two were divorced less than two weeks after the announcement was made public, and Holmes received full custody of Siri.

Life Is Getting Easier

Holmes' life appears less chaotic now, too.

The media frenzy also has died off, which means fewer bogus reports. Like when Star magazine published an article in 2011 titled "Addiction Nightmare: Katie Drug Shocker!" and implied she was a drug user.

She sued them for $50 million, and two months later, the publication publicly apologized and made a contribution to a nonprofit charity on Holmes' behalf.

Is Holmes Saying Goodbye to California?

It's unclear if Holmes bought another pad in California or if she's sticking with New York City, but that appears to be the case.

Settling In New York City

During her interview with InStyle, Holmes discussed how she was very active in the New York City community.

She has a book club and goes to the Joyce Theater, does hot yoga and takes boxing classes.

If she does buy another place in California, it might be a vacation home.

A New Adventure

Holmes, 41, is entering a new part of her life, but she doesn't regret anything.

"I always wanted adventure, and I got it," Holmes told inStyle. "And I'm still on one. In life, you're supposed to have joy, pain, loss, calm. We're not supposed to say, 'If I could go back, I would want everything joyful,' because it's not going to happen. That's life. Nobody gets off free, and you're not supposed to. Because then you're going to miss things."
